I hope we can camp in Heaven!

Out for a weekend of camping with my daughter, dogs, and good friends. I was reminded as I packed for the trip how much I LOVE camping!! God made me an outdoor girl and I just love the blessing of nature, clean air, a slower pace, camp fires, and GOD!! Surely we will have opportunities to camp in Heaven. (I mean…not even God could pass up a good Smore’s!!)

But as I lay here, snug as a bug in a rug (or tent…work with me people) I realize how much of life we voluntarily give up…that we shouldn’t. How many days do we stress about silly stuff!!!

When do we pass up the chance to enjoy watching a squirrel find a nut (and take a moment to be grateful for Kroger and Chick-fil-a)? Or a duck grazing for fish? Spiders looking for campers to torture!!

And, how many times do we sell ourselves short by carrying a heavy heart, doubting our future, doubting the plans God has for us…

Maybe this is the moment to slow down and let go and let God! And, with your new found freedom through His grace…enjoy the raindrops, getting “bunny ears” from your 8 year old, and living your life as if you were dying!!
